@wildgrass saidIt is obvious that you liberals resort to generalities when you are trying to avoid an issue. I think we are saying that school tuition loans of college graduates should be forgiven, but we should not help poor little homebuyers pay off their FHA loan with their three children and no jobs, whatever. Those guys are in a hell of a lot more hurt than the college graduates who are looking to put some money away for a family vacation to Europe. Y’all are losing this one.there is a clear expectation of returning the money borrowed, and now some are being treated differently,
Is there not a clear expectation of paying taxes? How are those things not comparable? In both cases, money was owed to the government, and in both cases, some of that expected money owed to government was forgiven.
For a minute there I thought you were explaining Trump with his huge election having been elected because he was going to build a wall to keep foreign illegal aliens out of our country. A damn good election promise. But then people like you would not let him build a wall. So why are you upset with us for not wanting Biden to give money away?
You will not answer this question
@averagejoe1 saidAnd your doing your usual imaginary scenarios with no bearing on the actual world, student loans are by struggling nurses, carers, firefighters, policemen and women the sort of people that are too busy visiting food banks to arrange a family vacation to Europe.

@kevcvs57 saidAre you even aware that there IS a Constitution?
No you cannot be a dictator by election ( well you can give it a good go like trump did )
If he had promised to be a dictator and then outlawed future elections and made himself president for life he would then be a dictator.
But promising to do something YOU do not like and getting 80million votes based on that manifesto means he’s definitely not a dictator when he does it, it means he is faithful to the promise he made to the electorate.
Do you believe that Trump had the right to build a wall on the southern border regardless of what courts or congress had to say?
@no1marauder saidIf the government didn’t take so much it would be easier to support ourselves!
Thankfully, because of social programs "libs" put into place that right wingers bitterly opposed and still want to do away with, that little old lady will have ample governmental support.
@soothfast saidYou are for the government rules without rights to the individual? If individual rights are done away with “for the good of the whole” we lose it all to total government rule, that never ends well.
Render unto Caesar, dude. Says so in your own favorite Book.
@averagejoe1 saidIt is fine to say that one type of loan forgiveness is better than another but they're both loan forgiveness. A government can also reduce ones tax bill which is the same fundamental premise targeting a different demographic.

These distinctions are value judgements as to what type of people government wants to support.
And I'm not a liberal Joe. I'm a numbers guy. I see the constant budget and deficit increases. Republicans give away just as much if not more money than dims. trump's deficit number makes me want to vomit.
Spend less money. Is it really that hard?
@suzianne saidA tax cut is simply the money wage earners earn, a government tax cut isn’t the government giving anyone money 💰 it is NOT taking what already was earned! We don’t make a living so the government has a right to everyone’s full paycheck, those that think that are sheep ready for the slaughter!
No, it's still "FREE MONEY!!!!1!"
@wildgrass saidhow long do you think you could make it without the farmers?
Taxes are compulsory payments to the government. If the government decides that tax money is no longer owed, but makes no commensurate cuts to the services it provides, then where does gov't get the money from? Who pays for the $60 billion bills for the millionaire farmers to keep the lights on? Who pays for building the football stadiums?
We keep forgetting the big picture.
In what some consider the most prosperous country the world has ever known, we do not have the life skills necessary to pay back loans we freely took out.
We should all thank our gracious rulers for fighting our battles for us when we are too weak and incapable to be expected to do such things for ourselves.
We need to continue to elect rulers who'll fully understand how weak and pathetic we are as individuals and will nurture and care for us by fulfilling all our needs. This is the ultimate, utopian state of man.
@wildgrass saidI believe C.K. Chesterton said, if I remember correctly.

“There are two ways of getting enough, one to accumulate more, the other desire less”.
Shame those who spend other peoples money don’t no entertain the second path to having enough!
@kevcvs57 saidAgain you fail to get it. Study the issue, please. My sorry ass nephew graduates college with debt. The firemen and nurses, no college degrees, are sending tax money to apply to his debt. You are right, they have no vacations in mind, because my nephew is using their money (taxes) to pay his debts. HE, HE is the one going to Paris. He gets to use his own saved money to pay for his trip. The firefighter has to use HIS money to pay for the nephew's education, and fancy college-educated job.

OK,, now say "AvJoe, I get it!!!! Now I see!"
