He said he thought it was real initially but now he knows it wasn't. So clearly now he thinks it wasn't real then even if he thought it was real at the time. He can't have it both ways. Either it was real initially or it wasn't. So that why I would like to know which it was?
Originally posted by FMFWhen have I pretended not to understand? Your faith was either real or it wasn't. What you thought about it at the time is irrelevant right? The fact that you thought it was real didn't make it real did it?
It's simple. Just read my posts and stop pretending not to understand.

Surely this is just about the ONLY thing you have been saying, for all intents and purposes, since you joined the web site?
Originally posted by FetchmyjunkFor me Christian was about putting my faith into action first and foremost and not really about going to church so much. And it all felt real, genuine, and sincere. You also feel your Christian faith to be real, genuine, and sincere at the current time, right? So you should be able to empathize.
I think faith is much deeper than just belief. Someone can believe the Bible but not put it's words into practice. They can do all the things church people do, go through the motions but not have real faith.

Originally posted by FetchmyjunkI have explained it over and over again. And yet a few posts ago you were saying " Either it was real initially or it wasn't. So that why I would like to know which it was?" You "would like to know which it was"?? Either you are pretending not to acknowledge and understand what I have been explaining to you, or you are pretending not to understand it because that's your 'debating style'.

Originally posted by FMFIf you look back now at the faith you had you are telling me that is wasn't real. But now you also want me to believe that it was real? Sorry but either your faith was real or it wasn't. You can't say it was real and it wasn't real at the same time. That doesn't logically make sense, and you know it.

Originally posted by FetchmyjunkMy point is that "I am not saying my view is right and everyone else's view is wrong" is a bit rich coming from a poster like you and with your posting history. Talk us through how your beliefs are "absolute truths" some more, why don't you? 😕

Originally posted by FetchmyjunkI have already answered explicitly. I am not interested in getting into a discussion about your choice of vocabulary. I believed that I was a "sinner" and that Jesus, who I believed was the Son of God, died to "forgive" our "sins". It all felt real to me.
Were you ever convicted of sin, and did you ever repent from sin and live a victorious life?
"Yes" or "No"?

Originally posted by FetchmyjunkWell I cannot somehow just pretend to believe the things you believe, to your question is moot. As I have said before, if you need your religious beliefs to get through life, and if it has the effect of keeping you relatively moral in your deeds, then you should just do what you want.
Feel free to tell me why living in your world of ever changing relative truths is any better than my world of absolutes.
