@medullah saidThe issue is not the word Trinity. It is what the word Trinity means. It says that God and Jesus are EQUAL. This is contrary to what the bible says. Jesus said clearly that God is GREATER. Paul said God is the HEAD OF Jesus. The doctrine of the Trinity is contrary to what Jesus and the Apostles preached.
If you accept that there is The Father (God), The Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit, in practical terms does it matter if your understanding of them is that they are a Trinity or not?
Where does the debate profit anyone?

@rajk999 saidNo that is not what it means, you too don't have a clue what the word means.

@rajk999 saidYou and I have done this elsewhere, and we agree with eachother on this point.

The truth is you can end up in entrenched positions and the argument goes around and around in cirlces depending on which version of the bible you quote from, each camp trying to prove eachother wrong.
if we take muder, then there is no fudging with the 6th commandment of the law of moses.
Is the debate over the trinity resolvable?
@divegeester said"Jesus" (even that isn't the true pronounciation of his name) and Holy Spirit are not titles.
Because titles are not people, I would have thought that was obvious.
However, "God" most certainly is .
@medullah saidYou said “father” “son” and “Holy Ghost”

These are titles.
There is one name for all of them, for this dispensation i.e. “Jesus”
Edit: caveat; the spirit does not speak of himself but leads and points towards Christ.

You can agrieve the Holy Spirit so it's a bit more than just a pointer.
@galveston75 saidWhy don't you just admit that you don't understand the Trinity concept and will never make even an effort to understand it? That would be more principled than this.
Unbelievable.
Why did Jesus not tell anyone on earth while he had 30+ years to tell anyone, even just one person that the belief of all of God's people up to the time Jesus was still alive and teaching, and say" Hey y'all, I need to clear something up that y'all have had all wrong from Adam to me is that God is not the God you think he is. He really isn't (1) God that ...[text shortened]... xplain why Jesus never once even slightly mentioned that new news of this mysterious 3 in 1 Godhead?
@divegeester saidAND "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." - Isaiah 7:14 KJV
Incorrect, Jesus said, and I quote him:
“I and the Father are one”
“When you have seen me, you have seen the Father”
Pretty clear I would say.
However also have Isaiah saying:
“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor,[b] Mighty God,[/ ...[text shortened]... is also one of our saviours
I also refer you back to FMF’s post which you seem to have ignored.
Immanuel is Hebrew for "God with us".
@medullah saidMany who disbelieve it cannot accurately define it, and don't care enough to understand it.

@kellyjay saidHi Kelly
Many who disbelieve it cannot accurately define it, and don't care enough to understand it.
I'm very much aware of the history of it, and if you had a definition within the bible that aligned with the Athanasian Creed it would be over, game set and match. But there isn't one.
I understand it, and it brings me back to what's more important; that Jesus died and provision was made under Levital Law for him to become our ransomer and redeemer holding out the prospect of life beyond this current wicked system; or that he may or may not be part of a trinity?
For me the Son is not Equal to the Father, and I cant think of a single scripture where Jesus claims to be on a par with his heavenly Father.
But we can agree to disagree nicely, and find some other common ground?
@medullah saidFrom my first post in this thread:

“I and the Father are one”
“When you have seen me, you have seen the Father”
