@ghost-of-a-duke saidIt is possible to believe in both God and humanity.
Thankfully I believe in humanity and our advancement in science and intellectual growth.
I suspect, in 2235, belief in God or gods will be seen as a curious and rather quaint thing from the past. (A bit like paper money and velcro).
@galveston75 saidHopefully that will be taken care of by the intellectual growth. But who knows, maybe hate will always be around.
Just curious with a question for the future. How will science stop hate?
@rajk999 saidI think the first holds back the second.
It is possible to believe in both God and humanity.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYeah a fanatical belief in God which sees people as being hopelessly evil, does hinder the progress of humanity. There are many who do not share that view.
I think the first holds back the second.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidThanks. I'm assuming that you don't believe in Satan I'd guess. But as long as he is around, the world will at best continue on with the bad we see but he is getting desperate because of him knowing he only has a short time left before he is abyssed. He is refereed to as a lion in the Bible, so he is acting like one that is getting cornered.

@galveston75 saidNo, I don't personify evil. There are some negative traits that are integral (unfortunately) to the human condition, greed, hate etc. I hope we will evolve out of these, but that isn't a given.

The future is unwritten.
@rajk999 saidPrecisely 144,000 precisely? That sounds very predestined don’t you think?
Galveston believes only the 144,000 JW elders which Revelation speaks of(for him), are predestined and they go to heaven.
@divegeester saidYes, predestined Jews from the 12 tribes of Israel. Galveston believes it applies to JW elders and nobody else
Precisely 144,000 precisely? That sounds very predestined don’t you think?
@divegeester saidYou Ok?
Precisely 144,000 precisely? That sounds very predestined don’t you think?
Edit: That’s a good point, but he doesn’t say who’s in that 144,000. If the number *and* individuals were determined beforehand, I think that’s be more along the lines of predestination.
