@rajk999 saidI think you should read (or re-read) Galatians, which talks about the danger of mixing Grace with the Law.
There seems to be many of these around. A complete Gospel Message has several core elements
- Faith and Baptism
- A change of lifestyle, repentance and avoiding sin
- Righteousness and Good Works
- The consequences of disobedience
1. The Gospel Message of Jesus Christ - The complete Gospel Message preached by Jesus Christ is recorded in the first 4 books of ...[text shortened]... aught. If you want hear sweet lies about getting eternal life and doing nothing, then go to church.
I said the following in another thread, but I’ll restate it here. You seem to under-estimate (or not recognize) the power of God’s Holy Spirit, which indwells a believer the moment he or she accepts and believes in Jesus Christ and in His Resurrection.
That new believer becomes a new creation with a new heart, new interests and new desires. This is not to say that the process of sanctification is immediate - it’s not, but if one genuinely believes in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross for them, they will want to spend time with Him in reading the Holy Bible, in worship and in prayer, and these activities will strengthen the Holy Spirit’s influence in a believer’s life.
Before long, the old, sinful habits will diminish (if not entirely disappear) and God-honoring habits will replace them.
But believers will always struggle with sin while they are in the flesh. The Apostle Paul did and said as much in Romans. (I believe it was Romans 7.)
